One Year Old!

Our sweet girl turned one today! How is that possible? It does not seem like a year has passed, but at the same time, it is hard to remember a time before having her in our lives. She is such a doll. She took her first steps a few days before she was eleven months, but she really took off this month. She is now running! She can stand from the middle of the room with ease, stoops easily and can catch her balance most times. She loves to walk anywhere, but absolutely loves being outside. She got a swing and playset with a slide in the backyard and when she wants to go out to play she will grab your hand and lead you or start swaying her body (her sign for swing). She is definitely understanding and following commands more. You can tell her to take something and put it somewhere or hand something to me and will do it pretty consistently. She however does not consistently follow no. We basically can not have the TV on while she is awake because it is right at her eye and hand level and she loves to touch it. You will tell her no, move her away from it and she will wrinkle her nose, laugh and run back to it. She can ask for music to be turned on. She is a wonderful eater as well as a great companion to take on shopping trips. She is truly a blessing to us!
I love my Mia!

She's my favorite!
So she was walking around looking so cute and I snapped this picture. Her face is too cute and she was wrinkling up her nose, but when I tried to get a closer pic I could not get it. She had her eyes closed or she was too fast.

Loving the park
We did my school's annual scrub run. I was an officer of the club that put it on my first two years and then had to miss my third year because I was on bed rest. Well I signed up to do the 5k and Cari and I started at the very back. I let everyone get started and then I started running pushing her in the jogging stroller. I stayed about five feet from everyone else. About a half a mile in, a police officer came and pulled me out as well as a girl with a dog and said the only way we could be in the race is if we were VERY last. We waited about five minutes and the last people came along. They were sauntering like they were in the cereal aisle at Walmart, so the dog girl and I left the race did our own 5k and headed back. Kind of a bummer, especially since it has always been stroller and dog friendly. Mike ran to the race (~7miles), ran the 5k and 10k and then ran home totally about 24 miles. He is crazy!

Easter sundayAnother failed attempt at a cousin picture
Last weekend Mike had drill in OKC and one of my good friends, Julie, had her baby in Moore, so Caroline and I had an OKC roadtrip. We went to the zoo first and it was literally that. There were way too many people to make it pleasurable, most big animals I could not even get close enough for Caroline to see. We tried to go to the less traveled areas and had fun. We went to the Moore Hospital and saw Julie and her beautiful baby Olivia. We then went to bricktown and met Mike for dinner.
She has been learning to eat with a spoon and fork and doing so well!

Daegan told Bryan that he thought Caroline needed a puppy, so they compromised and got her a fish. Daegan named it Bryan Pool.

We had a full house and are so thankful for our families.

I am doing my last month of medical school in Ortho with Mike and Dr. Stubbs. It is nice to work with Mike, especially since we had opposite schedules last month. I graduate next month and look forward to vacation!
