17 Months old!

Today our sweet girl is 17 months old! She is such a joy and a blessing to us! She is also such a little lady now. She knows so many words that I cannot even count. She can name all the colors, with help of course. She knows everyone's name-she calls herself cari kate. Tonight she said night night daddy! She loves all animals but especially loves all the cats around our house. We have one cat, Chloee who is at least 11 years old, and then there are a bunch of cats that hang out to eat chloee's food. There are three kittens that basically live in our backyard that we feed too. She loves to talk to them and she clicks her tongue to tell them to come, but they are still pretty shy. They do love playing on and around her toys. She is much more picky with her food and will not eat if she doesn't want to. I downloaded toy story one and two and now we put that on while she eats and she does better. I originally downloaded the first one to see if she was even interested and she was. She and I went to see toy story 3 and we lasted about halfway through. The 30+ minutes of commercials and previews killed us. I had vacation the first week of this month which happened to coincide with mike going to haiti so she and I spent some fun time together. We even went and stayed the night in OKC at a hotel where she got to swim. Unfortunately I forgot the camera for that trip. Another exciting happening this month was embarking on the adventure of potty training. She has started saying poop and doing the poop sign before she goes, so I thought might as well. She has successfully gone in the 3 times. I am going slow and not putting pressure on her, but I am proud of her!

Eme's first birthday

The day she got her potty I also got her some play necklaces because we have lost her other one. She went crazy with the necklaces and thought the potty was so cool!

She has gotten a lot better at coloring. She now actually colors and doesn't eat the crayons (much!)

Fun at the splash park!

The first time she went in the potty we went and got a slush to celebrate! She loves slushes and sonic ice. Anytime we go to sonic she always says "SLUSH!"

While on vacation we also took another visit to the tulsa zoo.

She was watching the donkey. She kept saying hee-haw and kicking her leg!

We were playing with a rolling toy and she was chasing it up and down the hall! I love these pics!
Can you tell she loves accessories?

We went and tailgated for the OSU/ Tulsa game. Alix and Cody stopped by and so did Tyler!

She learned to say go pokes and make the gun sign!

This last month we also lost my grandpa Unruh. I am thankful to have gotten to be there in his last few hours and also am very thankful that we had come to see him on my last day off before he passed away. Unfortunately I was unable to get off so I worked the night before the funeral and the night after. Needless to say I was emotionally and physically exhausted. I am so glad that he had a peaceful exit surrounded by his wonderful family. He really was a special man and he will be missed greatly! I am so happy to know that he is in heaven and we will see him again!
