I am currently rotating with the two internal med hospitalists in Stillwater and loving it! Mike and I get to ride to work together most days and it is fun to see him working. There have been a few patients that we are both seeing in the hospital and it seems funny to tag team with him. I really feel like this is my dream job, so hopefully all the ducks will get in their little row and it will work out for us! I am starting the application process for residency and it is a headache. There are a million things that you need and it is all computerized which really stresses me out. It was so much easier to get everything together and mail it. You knew it was there and it couldn't get lost in cyber space. I also have step 2 boards coming up on Aug. 17th and my physical exam boards in Philadelphia on Nov. 2nd. Whew, it seems like everything is hitting at once and it is causing my stomach to be in a constant state of churning. If I come out of medical school without an ulcer, I will be thankful! Everything will work out, but I am ready for it to be over so that I can stop stressing about it! My next three months are "audition rotations" where we rotate at the places we would like to do residency and try to shine as much as possible. It is done at this time because interviews start in September and you want your face to be fresh in their minds. I will be at OSU IM in August, OU med/peds in September and OU IM in October. I cannot wait for February so that I know where I am going! I am however still in shock that I will be a doctor in nine months!?!
