34 Weeks!

Well, we are 34 weeks today. Everything is going so well. Both Mike and I had a pretty nasty cold, but I think we are both finally over it. I cannot believe that we are getting so close to having our little girl here! We are so excited to meet her. Here are two new belly pics. The first is at 32 weeks and the second is at 34 weeks.

We had our first shower on March 1st and got so many wonderful presents. It was put on by Laura, Charley and Elizabeth (all friends from Ponca) and Julie and Elise (friends from medical school). It was so fun to see everyone. A bunch of my med school classmates came and that was great because we hardly ever get to see each other now that we are on rotations. Plus I had a ton of our family there and that was wonderful too! Our daughter is already the best dressed little girl around. We have been so grateful for all the presents! Julie had seen a little boy on her peds rotation in a doctor onesie and tracked it down on EBay! We also got an amazing Caroline name plaque that is black and pink polka dots. I had so much fun putting everything up and have everything divided out by age and size...compulsive anyone? We have our shower in Orlando this weekend and then one in Ponca the first weekend of April.

I am on a family med rotation in Skiatook this month. It has been hilarious all the comments that I get from patients. Here are some funny ones: "Do you have really bad posture or are you pregnant?", "Do you need me to get off the exam table so that you can lay down, because you look like you are going to have this baby any minute." Then you counter that with that I hear at least 3 times a day "You can't be that far along you are so tiny!". I don't understand! I had a patient today that kind of freaked me out. She asked when I was due; I said next month and she goes "you're not going to last that long. Your baby has already dropped. You have two weeks." I want her to come when she is ready, but I NEED her to stay in until at least April. My doctor is pretty funny and sarcastic and whenever he introduces me to the patient he says this is my medical student Ashley. Yes, she is pregnant, she is due in April and she is having a girl named Caroline.

In other big and exciting news (plus pretty surprising), miss caroline has another cousin on the way! After Maison was born, Jenne and Bryan had a permanent procedure because they were done having babies. Or so they thought. Apparently God had other plans and they found out they were pregnant, but due to a slightly higher risk situation waited to tell everyone until they were out of their first trimester. They are expecting another baby in September! It will be so nice for Caroline to have three cousins so close in age!
